CEU Credit/Hours

Your continued NCED certification requires ongoing professional development. The Board has established the requirement of 150 CEU hours or equivalent due every five years (by January 15). As a pre-eminent credentialing board, our aim is to encourage a diversity of professional growth activities, stressing both breadth and depth. With this goal in mind, the Board has developed six categories of qualifying activities.

Each area is assigned a maximum number of allowable hours. Professional development credits/hours should be updated and submitted to the Board by January 15 each year, at the time of your NCED annual renewal. Click on the '"CEU Credits/Hours Form" to submit your credits/hours per category. When you click the "submit" button on the form, you will be returned to this page. You will receive confirmation of your submission.

SPECIAL NOTE TO NCED CERTIFICATES ISSUED IN 2008: The Board has reduced the CEU requirement to 120 hours (one-time only), since the CEU requirements have only recently been finalized and publicized. All CEU activities completed between January 1, 2008 and December 31, 2012 are acceptable to submit. After 2012, the 150 CEU hour requirement will apply.
